OUR MAKE-UP & MAKE-UP ARTISTS

The sister company of Lush, B Cosmetics (or, B Never Too Busy To B Beautiful) sticks to the same ethos of its founder by producing delicious vegetarian and vegan products with minimal packaging and absolutely no animal testing involved in their development. From refillable pressed eyeshadows in gorgeous jewelled pots to handmade kohl in carved wooden pots to gloriously decadent perfumes with names like ‘Breath of God’, ‘Lady Boy’ and ‘Two Hearts Beating as One’, the bohemian, vintage-inspired atmosphere of their shops is as far away from the souless, sterile cosmetic halls of high street department stores as can be. http://www.lush.co.uk/IndexB.aspx

OUR PHOTOGRAPHER

David at shootmesenseless.com  took some sensational photos of our cover girl, Sarah. The amazing architecture of the Radcliffe Camera’s, the centre of Oxford University and the open spaces of Christ Church and its Meadows provided great backdrops – and the results were fantastic.

 THE MID-COUNTIES CO-OPERATIVE

The Co-op is more than just your local supermarketThe Midcounties Co-operative runs a range of businesses and is much more than just your local supermarket.

Co-operative businesses include funeral, travel, pharmacy, Motorworld, Co-operative IT and imagine co-operative childcare.

Co-operatives are all about people coming together. The Midcounties Co-operative is a member-owned business. Anyone who trades with the Society can (for an investment of just £1) become an equal shareholder and vote at member meetings.

Our aim is to be a successful consumer co-operative working towards creating a better, fairer world, and to enhance the lives of staff colleagues, members, customers, and the communities it serves.

We are also committed to supporting the local community and it gives resources worth around 6.8% of profits back to local groups and charities, making us one of the most generous retailers in the UK.

The Co-operative and Fairtrade

The Co-operative has been the UK’s biggest supermarket supporter of Fairtrade since 1992, and has achieved a number of Fairtrade firsts: in 2002 we converted our entire block chocolate range to Fairtrade; in 2007 we sold the first supermarket Fairtrade bag; and by 2007 we had Fairtrade bananas in every store.
Today, The Co-operative sells Fairtrade products in more outlets than any other retailer (over 2,200), and provides over 180 grocery product lines – the widest range of Fairtrade products of any retailer.
